OCIA

Are you considering initiation into the Catholic Church?

Whether you are unbaptized, baptized in another Christian tradition, or baptized Catholic but have not yet received Confirmation or Eucharist, our OCIA program offers a respectful, prayerful, and welcoming path to full participation in the life of the Church.

OCIA is the process in which adults become full, participating members of the Catholic Church. Participants, known as catechumens, go through a process of studying the Scriptures, nurturing their relationship with God, becoming familiar with the Catholic teachings and practices, professing their faith in Jesus and the Church, and receiving the sacraments of initiation: Baptism, Communion, and Confirmation. The Church extends an invitation to all who wish to become members of the Catholic faith.

Who is eligible for OCIA?

  • Unbaptized adults seeking baptism and initiation into the Catholic Church.
  • Adults baptized in another Christian tradition who desire full communion and the sacraments.
  • Catholics baptized as infants who have not yet received First Communion and/or Confirmation.

What to Expect

OCIA is more than instruction — it is a journey of formation, prayer, and community. Sessions include teaching, scripture reflection, prayer, and opportunities to ask questions. You’ll explore the Creed, the sacraments, prayer, moral living, and how to participate fully in parish life.

Ready to Begin?

If you or someone you love would like to start the RCIA journey, we’d be honored to walk with you.
